House prices

With average house prices now reaching £350,700 in England, and £680,100 in London, owning a home is out of the reach of many.

Housing associations play a vital role to counter this, offering social and affordable rent, and low-cost home ownership solutions to those unable to access the market. Indeed, last year one in three affordable homes built by housing associations were for shared ownership. And one in eight were for social rent.

Housing associations aim to increase delivery, partly through Government grant programmes including support for social rent, but also through long-term Strategic Partnerships with Homes England.
